It was another beautiful day at Fenway Park for the 7th annual U.S. Pavement Services’ Pledge to Hire Veterans Red Sox game. Being the largest event yet, on May 11th, U.S. Pavement hosted a total of 406 people at the park, with over 300 veterans and their families, and over 100 employees from U.S. Pavement in attendance.
On May 8, 2019, Woburn Mayor Scott Galvin issued a proclamation to U.S. Pavement Services Founder and CEO Mike Musto for his continuous support and dedication to giving back to the veterans of the city of Woburn.
Being the Nation's Leading Pavement & Concrete service provider since 1985, U.S. Pavement kicked off another season the right way with a job fair hosted at the Corporate Office in Woburn, MA. Over the course of two days, dozens of people came to find out how they can become a part of the winning team for the 2019 season. From receiving the Veterans Community Leadership Award in November and partnering with the Woburn Boys and Girls Club for their Annual Halloween Parade, to teaming-up with the Team Depot Army is North Carolina, U.S. Pavement is aiming high this year!
This week on CEO-Ready, we're in Marietta, GA with The Surface Masters President Justin Meier. Justin talks about how there are two aspects to being CEO-Ready: a mental piece and a physical piece. Mentally you have to know your stuff so you are ready at any time to be “peppered with questions” and physically you need to look the part, both to represent your expertise and professionalism.
This time on CEO-Ready, we're with PaveCo Founder/CEO Darin Whelan. Darin talks about the importance of hiring for attitude (be happy!) first and for skill second. He also talks about the creative ways he is instilling a close-knit culture, which is leading to major growth and success of the entire team and company. PaveCo is even adopting the CEO-Ready concept into their every day job performance (which was a big hit with yours truly)!
Darin lives out the CEO-Ready culture personally by trying to transform the lives of the people in his company. His "job as a leader" is to elevate his team, individually and collectively, however he can.
Side note: that's a 1-ton Bomag roller in the background ... Can't miss out on a sunny day in New England!
Check out this installment in our CEO-Ready video series! Join us again next week as we continue the exploration of this topic.
